Gli Iron Maiden nascono dalla New Wave of British Heavy Metal e contribuiscono al suo pieno sviluppo. Dall'unione del Punk, dell'Hard Rock, del Blues e di un'essenza unica nasce questa grande band che sin dall'inizio ha influenzato moltissimi generi, stili e gruppi (e tutt'ora lo fa). I Maiden possono dirsi fautori della nascita dello Speed metal, del Power metal, del Thrash metal e del Progressive metal, per non parlare delle miriadi di altri stili. Fino ad ora hanno registrato 13 album in studio, 7 compilation, 7 album Live e hanno suonato in migliaia di concerti in ogni angolo del mondo, continuando a rappresentare, insieme ai maggiori gruppi mondiali, il Metal e il Rock in generale. Nonostante i loro album abbiamo uno stile tutto loro e imparagonabile c'è qualcosa che li accomuna. (La mascotte della band, Eddie, sempre presente nelle copertine dei dischi e nei concerti è stato creato da Derek Riggs.)

Eddie è la mascotte della band heavy metal inglese Iron Maiden, con le fattezze di un uomo morto, simile ad uno zombie. Nato come "ornamento" del palco su cui si sarebbe esibita la band, era originariamente ricavato da una maschera kabuki opportunamente riverniciata. Allo scopo di "impreziosirne" l'effetto, venne modificata in modo da permettere la fuoriuscita di fumi colorati e/o sangue finto. Col crescere del successo della band, la conseguente necessità di impegnare palchi più grandi, ha portato all'ingrandirsi dell'ornamento suddetto fino alla "nascita" del cosiddetto "walking Eddie" cioè una versione tridimensionale gigante e semovente del noto Eddie, dotando di nuove ed elaborate scenografie lo spettacolo della band. Nelle prime copertine faceva solo da logo ma in Live After Death Eddie risolge con alle spalle la citazione da Lovecraft "This is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die". A lui sono dedicati un videogame e l'album Edward the great che raccoglie i maggiori successi degli Iron Maiden.

Jethro Tull - 25 anni di carriera spettacolari! Un portento della musica, il rock come si deve fare, i nostalgici li ricordano con un sorriso e qualche giovane non in preda alle smanie commerciali sicuramente li conosce.
A torino hanno fatto un successone negli anni 80, vedevi padri e figli insieme impegnati ad applaudire dei mostri sacri, nel 2004 sono tornati a Torino e hanno riempito ancora il Mazda-palace e come allora, padri e figli si sono ritrovati ad ascoltare le evoluzioni del flauto magico di Anderson.
Merita citare tutta la monografia, per non perderla e magari replicare in rete qualcosa che non deve perdersi nel tempo.! "Renko"

Inizialmente la band, capitanata sia da Ian Anderson che dal chitarrista Mick Abrahams, era sostanzialmente orientata verso il blues. Il loro primo album, "This Was", mette in fila una serie di brani rock-blues tra cui spicca "Song for Jeffrey".

Nel gruppo si apre subito una discussione sulla direzione da prendere: vince Ian Anderson e Mick Abrahams esce dalla formazione andando a fondare i Blodwyn Pig con cui continua la propria strada nel british blues.
I Tull si incamminano lungo un percorso che flirta contemporaneamente con quattro stilemi che, con equilibri diversi nelle varie fasi della loro lunga vita, si possono individuare nella musica folk, nella musica jazz, nella musica classica, e ancora il blues, che resta comunque negli ingredienti della loro produzione.

Quando si parla della storia della musica, i Pink Floyd vengono inseriti nella storia del Rock moderno, in realtà li si può definire i "Precursori" del Rock, nella loro incredibile carriera non hanno mai smesso di sperimentare e ricercare nuovi suoni, in una eterna ricerca di un sound psichedelico, ma anche melodico e di sicuro successo.
1965 E’ l’anno della nuova cultura “underground” che segna la nascita di innumerevoli nuovi complessi, uno dei quali è quello dei PINK FLOYD, formatosi tra i banchi di scuola dell’Istituto Politecnico di Architettura di Londra. All’inizio è costituito da Nick Mason (batteria), Roger Waters (basso e voce) e Richard Wright (tastiere e voce), ai quali si aggiunge in seguito Syd Barrett (chitarra e voce).
Il prossimo 10 LUGLIO 2006 uscirà nei negozi il tanto atteso e tanto rimandato doppio dvd di PULSE, ultimo tour dei Pink Floyd, da non perdere !
